Veterinary Surgeon
Vets for Pets
Date: 5 hours ago
City: Llanelli
Contract type: Part time

Job Description
"Caring, informative and professional"
"They really care about animals and go that extra mile for both you and your pets"
"The best vets I have taken my dogs to" Our clients love us, and we think you will too!
If you are a Vet looking to have some extra free time, or are considering a change of scenery with flexibility, and being part of a supportive team is important to you, then we have the perfect opportunity for you at Llanelli Vets4Pets!
We are a hardworking but fun team of 4 vets (with 30+, 14 and 8 years’ experience and a new graduate), 5 experienced nurses and 4 Receptionists. We put emphasise on working as a team and truly supporting each other. We have a practice ethos of the animals always coming first so we don’t push you for any financial targets. All non-routine appointments are 20 minutes, and routine appointments are 15 minutes. We have 1 hour lunch breaks that are fully paid as we know emergencies occasionally happen (although this is rare!). Everyone is paid for 30 minutes after the surgery officially closes so we leave on time or early!
We know that being a vet must fit around all the other parts of life that are important, so we are open to you working shifts that truly suit you. We are ideally looking for part time hours. Weekend hours can be flexible and are negotiable but ideally looking for someone to work 1 in 4 (Saturday 9am – 5:30pm and Sunday 10:30am – 4pm).
Our practice is ideally located on the busy Parc Trostre Retail Park in Llanelli, within a Pets at Home store, meaning we have a loyal client base and a varied caseload…no two days are the same here! The surgery is built to industry leading standards and has state of the art equipment including digital radiography, ultrasound and in-house lab.
The ideal vet to join us will be personable, have good clinical skills, be experienced with consultations and routine procedures, and have excellent communication skills. Communication is very important to us, being able to build a rapport with our clients is an essential skill, as is the ability to support our colleagues. We work best by discussing cases, sharing opinions and expertise and supporting each other in practice.
By joining us, we can offer you:
Sharing our passion and commitment for high standards, will ensure you thrive within this role. With a confident and capable approach, the team would love someone who could bring new ideas and ambition to the team, as they are always looking for ways to improve. As a Practice we are inclusive, embracing a supportive and non-judgement environment.
We want our colleagues to be as diverse as our clients. Our teams are inclusive and celebrate difference so if you meet our role requirements, we’d love to hear from you.
If you would like any questions answered about the practice or what you can expect working with us, please feel free to drop Nicky Townsend an email on [email protected] and she will get back to you.
If you would like to apply for the role, please contact Lizzie at [email protected] and someone will get back to you within 1 working day.
Location: SA14 9UY
We take our inspiration from pets in embracing people from all walks of life, and we value, respect and celebrate difference. We encourage our people to be their best selves so that we can create a better world for Pets, our Planet, and People. Our ambition is to reflect the diversity of the communities we operate in, and we are intentional in addressing and removing barriers to create opportunities for the exceptional talent and potential in our communities. Even if your skills and experience don’t perfectly align, if you think you can make a unique contribution through your values and behaviours, we want to hear from you!
