Veterinary Surgeon

Vets for Pets

Date: 1 day ago
City: Sittingbourne
Contract type: Full time
Job Description

Ready to thrive in a practice where people and pets truly matter?

We’re growing our friendly, forward-thinking team at Sittingbourne Vets4Pets – and we’d love you to be part of it.

We’re looking for a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Surgeon who shares our values of kindness, respect, and putting pets and their people first. This is more than a job – it’s an opportunity to feel valued, supported, and part of a team that genuinely cares.

Who We Are

We’re a well-established practice with a loyal and growing client base. For over eight years, we’ve proudly delivered high standards of care in a warm and welcoming environment. Clients often tell us that we feel more like family than a clinic – and that’s exactly how we like it.

We’re owned and led by a vet and a veterinary nurse, which means we understand the real-life challenges of clinical work. Our leadership is grounded in compassion, honesty, and a deep respect for our people – and that shows in the culture we’ve created.

We’re a Practice Standards Scheme member, proud holders of a Good Client Service Award, and committed to making our practice feel like a place where both team members and clients feel seen and supported.

You’ll be joining a supportive team of 3 experienced vets, 5 fantastic RVNs, a VCA, and 4 friendly receptionists – all of whom believe in teamwork, learning together, and always making time for a good chat (and a slice of cake!).

Our clinical facilities include:

  • Digital x-ray (converted into a peaceful, homely euthanasia room when needed)
  • In-house laboratory
  • Ultrasound
  • Dental x-ray (coming soon!)
  • A varied surgical caseload, including orthopaedics

Who We’re Looking For

We’re seeking a confident and approachable vet with at least 2 years’ experience in small animal practice. You’ll be:

  • Kind, enthusiastic, and a great communicator
  • Comfortable with routine surgery and medical work-ups
  • Open to learning and collaboration
  • Passionate about high standards and animal welfare
  • Calm and adaptable when things get busy

We value flexibility and understand life outside work is important too. Whether you’re looking for full time or part time, we’ll work with you to find a rota that fits – including school hours if needed, and no out-of-hours.

What We Offer

We’re proud to be part of the Vets4Pets network, offering you the stability of a trusted brand with the feel of a close-knit independent practice.

  • Salary up to £65,000 FTE (depending on experience)
  • Generous CPD allowance + funding for certificates
  • Contributory pension
  • Paid RCVS & VDS memberships
  • Option to buy extra holiday
  • Exclusive colleague discounts and rewards
  • Unlimited tea, coffee, and cake (and people to share it with!)

Why Join Us?

At Sittingbourne Vets4Pets, you won’t just be a cog in the wheel. You’ll be a valued team member with a voice, the support to grow, and the space to develop your own interests and clinical passions.

If you’re looking for a team where compassion, humour, and teamwork are just as important as clinical excellence – led by people who genuinely get it – then we could be your perfect match.

We’d love to hear from you – apply now and let’s start the conversation.

This is a great opportunity to be part of a fun, hardworking and motivated team, offering the chance to develop your own specialisms in a supportive environment. If we sound like a team, you'd like to be a part of, we would love to hear from you!
