Veterinary Nurse - Fixed Term
Medivet
Date: 10 hours ago
City: High Peak
Contract type: Full time

Medivet Buxton and New Mills have an exciting opportunity for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our supportive, close-knit team on a 12-month fixed term contract. This is a fantastic chance to take the next step in your nursing career, supporting the growth of a newly reopening practice at Buxton while benefiting from the variety, pace and resources of our well-established New Mills site.
The role is full-time across five days a week, including 1 in 4 Saturdays (8:00–16:30), and will see you working across both practices, bringing clinical care and continuity to a community of loyal clients and much-loved pets. With the support of our Branch Partner and collaborative veterinary team, you’ll have a meaningful role in helping Buxton develop into a thriving, four-day-a-week practice, all while maintaining a strong connection with the New Mills site, where you’ll be surrounded by a larger, well-equipped team.
Buxton is currently a quieter, two-day-a-week practice, offering the ideal environment for those who enjoy working autonomously, getting stuck into all aspects of general nursing, and building strong relationships with clients. Working alongside one vet and either a PCA or CCA. Complex cases are referred to our New Mills practice, just a short distance away, where we have x-ray, ultrasound and endoscopy on-site where this role will account for the other three days a week.
Across the practices, you’ll be part of a vibrant and well-bonded team, including our Branch Partner Stefano Luccarda, veterinary surgeons Erhan and Barbara, RVNs Harriet and Ashleigh, SVN Sammy and CCA Ava. The two sites work seamlessly together, and you’ll benefit from having a consistent support network, great communication and the satisfaction of playing a key role in two practices that share the same high standards, patient-first values, and friendly community feel.
Whether you’re looking to gain more hands-on experience, support a growing practice from the ground up, or broaden your skill set in both clinical and consult-based work, this is an opportunity to shape your own development within a team that genuinely supports and values each other with exciting variety.
We’re proud of our fantastic location too – with New Mills set in the heart of the beautiful High Peak, offering sweeping countryside views, great transport links and a gateway to the Peak District. It’s a picturesque, thriving area with plenty to do, from walks and wildlife to pubs, shops and family-friendly activities all year round.
If you’re a proactive, compassionate nurse who’s excited by the idea of variety, teamwork and being part of something new, we’d love to hear from you.
