The post holder will work as part of a team comprising: 12 consultants, 7 Clinical nurse specialists and a team of dedicated urology staff based in the Urology unit at Stepping Hill Hospital.
The post holder will support the urology CNS team in the care and management of urology patients, particularly in respect of developing pathways and clinics for cancer conditions and treatments.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
- In conjunction with the Head Nurse and clinical team will deliver the modernisation agenda within their clinical setting.
- Lead by example and act as a positive role model for all staff, taking responsibility for own professional development
- Provide leadership that promotes patient focused care.
- Lead on the development and delivery of Cancer Urology care and conditions, education and training for patients and staff.
- Provide clinical leadership and line management of staff if appropriate, ensuring the delivery of the highest professional standards through staff development and individual performance appraisal/review.
- Maintain personal standards of conduct and behaviour, which are consistent with Trust and Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) standards and requirements
- Actively contribute to, and support agreed developments within the Business Group, relevant to specialty
- Provide proactive case management to patients and their carer/s by regular holistic assessment determined by individual circumstances to identify needs.
- Provide expert nursing advice and support to other Health Care Professionals (HCP)
- Refer on or signpost to other sources for support.
