Description

The Underwriting Assistant position supports underwriters by providing general administrative support, ensuring precise data handling and operational efficiency within a London-based insurance team. This role is integral in supporting underwriting strategies and process consistency.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Perform data entry of insurance information into in-house systems to agreed, defined standards of accuracy and timeliness
  • Interpret Contract/Slip wording to ensure accuracy of data entry.
  • Consideration of Regulatory Requirements, Internal Business requirements and Service Level agreements across Key Performance Identifiers.
  • Facilitate aged debt and general credit control by answering contract specific queries
  • Assist Underwriters with completion of key tasks, including but not limited to; Peer Review, RARC, ULR completion, EPI Attestation review(s) and, preparation of Renewal packs. This could include check & challenge activity.
  • Utilise in house reporting to aide completion of key Operational and Underwriting tasks.
  • Act as liaison between Operations and Underwriting where required.
  • Be an advocate for change.
  • Be aware of the continuous improvement ethos specific to Operational efficiencies and consistencies, suggest solution(s) and facilitate implementation.

Essential Skills & Requirements

  • Demonstrate high levels of accuracy and have good attention to detail
  • Able to work as part of a team
  • Good communication skills
  • Self-motivated and willing to develop knowledge and skills
  • Computer literate and competent using Microsoft Office programmes
  • Prior experience is desirable but not required
