About This Opportunity
We are hiring an Import and Export Officer based in ones of our UK beverage can manufacturing plants, either in Peterborough or in Botcherby. This role reports to the Supply-Chain Manager UK.
In this role, you will ensure legal compliance in our UK supply chain import and export operational flows, managing import and export planning, compliance, costing, reconciliation, and administrative activities for finished goods such as cans, ends, and scrap, as well as secondary packaging, coils, materials, and production-related parts.

About This Opportunity
We are hiring an Import and Export Officer based in ones of our UK beverage can manufacturing plants, either in Peterborough or in Botcherby. This role reports to the Supply-Chain Manager UK.
In this role, you will ensure legal compliance in our UK supply chain import and export operational flows, managing import and export planning, compliance, costing, reconciliation, and administrative activities for finished goods such as cans, ends, and scrap, as well as secondary packaging, coils, materials, and production-related parts.
Main Responsibilities
Legal Compliance:
- Manage inward/outward processing regime applications and reporting
- Oversee customs authorisations and economic operator status implementation
- Handle import / export permissions, certificates, and compliance documentation
- Track export incentives and investment certifications
- Maintain records for customs insurance claims and reconciliations
- Plan and coordinate shipments with 3PLs, freight forwarders and supply chain teams
- Prepare and verify export documentation (invoices, certificates, customs forms)
- Ensure compliance with customs reporting, banking, and insurance formalities
- Archive customs declaration forms for accounting and audits
- Prepare documentation for customs clearance and supplier coordination
- Track and monitor goods in transit for material arrival planning
- Coordinate import schedules, payments, and warehouse logistics
- Oversee port handling, customs reconciliation, and safety permits for hazardous materials
- Educated to a degree or equivalent
- At least 5-years of industrial experience
- A thorough knowledge of shipping regulations and policies
- Customer and quality and oriented
- Good commercial understanding
- Aware of continuous improvement techniques and approaches
- A strong safety mind-set
- A self-starter, with good problem-solving and organisation skills
- Able to communicate and relate to people at all levels
- Able to work with internal and external stakeholders in a professional manner
- IT literate ideally with knowledge of SAP
- Fluent in English, another European language would be an advantage
