MAMA - Musselburgh Amateur Musical Association – A Registered Scottish Charity

MAMA, a Scottish Charity (SC050568), is seeking two new Trustees to join our Board. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute your skills, ideas, and enthusiasm to support our mission of creating accessible, high-quality musical theatre experiences for all.

About the Role

As a Trustee, you will:

• Support the strategic direction, good governance, and long-term sustainability of the charity.

• Help ensure the charity meets its legal and financial responsibilities under Scottish charity law.

• Work with fellow Trustees and volunteers to strengthen our impact in the community.

• Act in the best interests of the charity and its beneficiaries at all times.

This is a voluntary (unpaid) role, but it offers rewarding experience, the chance to develop new skills, and the joy of contributing to a creative and vibrant local organisation.

Time Commitment

Trustees typically attend Board meetings every quarter, support events where possible, and contribute to specific projects or sub-committees as agreed.

Who We’re Looking For

We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and experiences. You do not need prior trustee experience – full induction and support will be provided.

We are particularly interested in skills or experience in:

• Finance and fundraising

• Marketing and communications

• Community engagement

• Theatre, arts, or education

• Governance or charity management
