WHAT DOES THE ROLE ENTAIL?
- Supporting the Transport Manager in providing a fully compliant operation, operational expertise, ensuring the transport operation is efficiently run within the agreed cost perimeters and ensuring a first class service is maintained to achieve the contracts objectives and meet the customers demands.
- Achievement of targets, deliveries on time, maintaining team morale, achievement of personal development objectives and remaining compliant.
- Manage a team of 3 x First Line Managers, co-ordinate, supervise and report upon the work activities of a team; providing effective communication, leadership, motivation, training & development.
- Accountable for the delivery of all aspects of the shift operation ensuring the delivery of efficient and custmer focused service
- Analyse reports against KPI targets and advise on action to improve results
- Fostering an environment that promotes a culture of Continuous Improvement, sharing of ideas and best practice.

WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?

- Previous and practical experience as a Shift Manager in a Transport or Distribution environment
- Computer literate with a practical knowledge of logistics software packages including Tachomaster and Microlise
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage, organise and train direct reports
- Flexibility to work a 4 week shift patterns
- Ensures that day-to-day operational activities are inline with customers specifications
- A recognised qualification in Supply Chain Management or Logistics will be well-received
- Live locally to Stoke on Trent ST4 2TP
