Transactional Processing Assistant
15-Month Fixed-Term Contract
Location: Shirley (Hybrid – 1 day per week in the office)
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Transactional Processing Assistant to join our finance team on a 15 Month fixed-term contract. This hybrid role offers a mix of remote working with one day per week in our Shirley office.
You’ll play a vital role in supporting our transactional finance operations, period-end processes, acquisitions, and banking administration – ensuring smooth and accurate financial processing across the business.

Transactional Processing Assistant

You’ll play a vital role in supporting our transactional finance operations, period-end processes, acquisitions, and banking administration – ensuring smooth and accurate financial processing across the business.
Key Responsibilities:
PDQ Administration & Site Support
- Handle terminal orders, cancellations, and maintain accurate records
- Respond to queries on transactions, refunds, and settlements
- Maintain VAT schedules and bank reference lists
- Support with charge disputes and general PDQ enquiries
- Journal entries related to unreconciled cash, AP Close, and payments
- Reconciliation of Healthy Pet Club receipts and charges
- Assist with code-level analysis and reporting
- Set up new merchant accounts and virtual terminals
- Provide PDQ and banking support for acquisitions, including Irish operations
- Act as finance admin point of contact for internal and external stakeholders
- Manage user accounts and approvals for Lloyds and JP Morgan
- Support the Ireland finance team with account setup
- Maintain and approve Virtual Credit Card users, purchase groups, and cost centre data
- Assist managers with journal entries, analysis, and ad-hoc cover
- Contribute to process improvement and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Proven experience in a finance or transactional processing role
- Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Proficiency with financial systems (Oracle or similar is a plus)
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment
