About The Role
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Trainee Trauma Informed Practitioner to join our clinical team at Trafle School. This is a fixed-term, 22-hour per week role, term-time only, with a salary of £14,089.24. You will be providing high-quality trauma-informed therapeutic interventions to children and young people, supporting them and their families, and collaborating with professionals within residential and educational settings.
In this role, you will develop and implement trauma-responsive interventions, offer consultation and training to staff. You will be responsible for contributing to formulating therapy programmes, conducting thorough assessments, and evaluating the effectiveness of interventions using evidence-based practice.
The role will also involve managing a caseload and ensuring timely delivery of interventions, maintaining accurate documentation, and working within professional standards to deliver the best possible outcomes for the children and young people you work with.

Responsibilities
- Support the development and delivery of trauma-responsive interventions for children, young people, carers, and families.
- Provide consultation and training to residential and educational staff on children’s emotional well-being and trauma.
- Formulate and implement therapy programmes tailored to the needs of children and young people.
- Use advanced communication skills to understand and support individuals through sensitive difficulties.
- Prepare comprehensive assessment reports and recommend strategies to address the needs of children or young people.
- Plan and carry out evidence-based therapy interventions in collaboration with families and professionals.
- Demonstrate clinical effectiveness by using outcome measures to evaluate interventions.
- Manage time effectively to prioritise clinical and administrative duties.
- Maintain up-to-date case notes in line with professional standards and organisational guidelines.
- Adhere to local and national standards relating to trauma-informed practice.
- Engage in continuous professional development (CPD) to enhance clinical practice.
- Willingness to undertake relevant training and development opportunities.
- NVQ3 in Health or Social Care or equivalent experience in a Health or Social Care setting.
- At least 1 years’ experience working with children or young people with social, emotional, behavioural difficulties, trauma, or attachment issues.
- Ability to motivate and inspire children, young people, and teams.
- Demonstrated understanding of the needs of children and young people and proven skills in co-production and engagement with families.
- Ability to demonstrate positive role model behaviours.
