This SEN Behaviour Analyst is an excellent opportunity for someone with an interest in Teaching children with Special Educational Needs. The role is based in Guildford, at a school for children aged 4-19 with autism, graded 'Outstanding' by Ofsted. You will be provided with access to a wide range of funded training and qualification opportunities in SEN education whilst gaining a breadth of experience with children of varying ages and abilities. The school uses behaviour driven teaching strategies and interventions to encourage positive outcomes and student development. You will work within small classes individually and in groups. As a SEN Behaviour Analyst, you will design, plan and deliver teaching sessions to encourage pupils' learning and progression as well as improving their social and emotional development.

The Applied Behaviour Analysis helps you to understand the behaviours of the pupils much better and makes you think of ways to help to make pupils feel happier and achieve more. Everyone around me was so supportive. There are lots of opportunities for learning and progression, whether it be through study or working through the ranks, this school has lots to offer! I have recently stepped into a new role as the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead and the Senior Mental Health Lead for pupils, as well as completing a Mental Health Responder course to look after our staff team as a Mental Health First Aider. Yes it can be hard and tiring, but it is so rewarding to see the pupils achieve even the smallest thing. - Billie

Trainee SEN Behaviour Analyst - Guildford
Responsibilities
- Provide teaching and support to pupils, following individualised curriculums
- Plan, prepare and deliver lessons and activities, focusing largely on life skills
- Support pupils' participation in trips, applying theory-based learning to practice
- Provide behaviourally based support to reduce behaviours that impact quality of life
- Provide personal care, encouraging pupils to maintain acceptable levels of hygiene (toileting, feeding)
- Monitor pupil progress, ensuring teaching is appropriate and effective for each child's needs
- Assist with break time duties including playground support and snack time
- Professional, personal or voluntary experience of working with children and disabilities
- Minimum Grade C/4 GCSE in English Language & Maths or equivalent
- Comfortable working with children who exhibit challenging behaviour
- Ability to keep calm in high pressure situations
