Marsh Commercial – Trainee Insurance Broker/Associate Client Advisor
We have a fantastic opportunity to join our Commercial Team as an Associate Client Advisor. This is the perfect role for someone with a strong educational background with ambitions to join an established, market leading insurance broker.
Within this role you will have the opportunity to join our exciting Commercial practice, where you will be initially providing administrative support to a team of experts who are selecting and obtaining the best insurance programmes; as well as supporting a team of Client Executives on understanding our clients’ business, the challenges they face, their risks, and what value looks like for them.
As you progress through the training programme, you will then be in a position to learn how to advise on the best course of action for our clients’ risk management and work with the broking teams to manage and optimize our value proposition.

- The successful candidate will work within a highly skilled team of market leading professionals working on a portfolio of diverse clients across the Thames Valley
- The successful candidate will be joining our Commercial team, a team that operates at the highest level of professionalism and insurance knowledge within their sector, providing a solid platform for career development and learning within a complex broking environment.
- Exposure to the unique aspects of the insurance broking industry
- Industry focused insurance and technical training from the markets leading insurance professionals
- You will work in a busy office with an experienced team. This includes all account handling work as well as all broking and placing instructions
- You will gain a first-class knowledge in all sides of the business
- You will build and manage relationships with our broking colleagues as well the end clients themselves
- Opportunity to study towards CII qualifications
- Provide excellent client service on all aspects of account management to our clients, ensuring client needs are identified and met in line with agreed service standards
- Ensure timely completion of all set tasks ensuring client satisfaction at all times
- Demonstrate your adaptability skills when required in order to support colleagues in completing business critical tasks
- Develop meaningful working relationships with our insurer partners through regular contact and liaison to better serve our clients
- Through training, coaching and mentoring have a thorough understanding of all major classes of insurance that we offer our clients and keep abreast of new technical and product developments
- Keen interest to work in a diverse and collaborative environment
- Good attention to detail
- Ability to multitask, prioritise responsibilities and work independently when required
- Team player with a willingness to share ideas, knowledge and experiences
- 96 UCAS points at A-Level or equivalent (B-TEC, T-LEVEL etc)
- 5 GCSE’s at Grades 9 – 4 (including English & Maths)
- Right to Work in the UK or Republic of Ireland (no visa sponsorship provided)
- Previous experience within a client/customer facing role, this can be gained from within a similar role or working in environments such as (but not limited to) retail, hospitality, food & beverage etc
- Existing Insurance Professional Development or willingness to participate in Professional Development studies (i.e Chartered Institute of Insurance (CII) qualifications)
- Demonstrate enthusiasm and pride in maintaining a high standard of work
