In this role, you’ll learn how to match customer needs with the right equipment, keep projects moving, and make sure every hire runs smoothly from start to finish. You’ll get hands-on experience, expert guidance, and the chance to build skills for a long-term career in plant hire and fleet coordination.

About The Role

As a Trainee Hire and Service Coordinator, you’ll work closely with experienced colleagues to learn all aspects of hire coordination. You’ll support the team in:

  • Matching customer requirements to available equipment, ensuring the right machines are delivered on time.
  • Managing hire schedules and assisting with delivery, collection, and maintenance of pla nt.

This is a hands-on learning opportunity that will give you exposure to the full lifecycle of plant hire — from first enquiry to equipment return — while developing valuable skills in customer service, operations, and logistics

How This Role Supports The Delivery Of Hire Solutions

  • Assisting in matching customer requirements to available equipment.
  • Helping manage plant hire requests from initial enquiry through delivery and return.
  • Coordinating maintenance schedules and supporting breakdown response.
  • Monitoring equipment availability and keeping records accurate.
  • Assisting with hire documentation (agreements, quotes, delivery/return notes).
  • Learning to use CRM and hire management systems.
  • Following company procedures, health & safety standards, and industry regulations.

What Makes You a Good Fit For This Role

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Enthusiastic and keen to learn about hire coordination.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Comfortable using digital systems and willing to develop technical skills.
  • Able to prioritise and work well in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive, can-do attitude with a willingness to take on new challenges.
