Trade Counter Sales Advisor

Jewson, a leading building materials distributor in Northern Europe, is on the hunt for a Trade Counter Sales Advisor to join the team in our Beverley branch who's as passionate about great service as we are.

Hours: 7.30am–5pm Monday to Friday and every other Saturday morning 8-12

Location: Jewson, 36 Flemingate, Beverley HU17 0NU

Key Responsibilities

This is a multiskilled role where your main focus is always the customer. Serving at the trade counter, answering the phone, picking orders and managing stock in the yard and retail area. It's a busy and vital role in the team.

• Welcome customers to the branch and take an active interest in their projects
• Get to know our product lines and services in order to make the most of all customer interactions in line with our Jewson values
• Develop great relationships with new and existing customers, both face to face and over the phone
• Use our in-house systems to process customer orders, organise delivery times, and keep customers updated throughout their journey
• Dealing with lapsed account customers while also generating sales with new and existing customers
• Assist with picking customer orders in the yard, loading and unloading customer and delivery vehicles (forklift training provided)
• Keep the branch looking clean and tidy, maintain stock levels and merchandising of stock, to make a great first impression on our customers
• Work with colleagues to suggest opportunities for improvement
• Make Health & Safety a priority and demonstrate how you can keep yourself and others safe at work

Required Skills And Experience

• Previous industry experience would be beneficial but not essential
• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise work accordingly
• Experience in a busy customer facing role with strong communication skills
• IT literate
• A positive and flexible attitude
