The role will be responsible for the effective management of all UK tenders from kick off through to eventual submission and where successful through to client sign off. The role will interact with all Business Units within the organisation, ensuring that effective planning is adopted at all stages of the process across the business. The key roles and responsibilities will be as follows:
- Supported by the Tender team, prepare accurate tender timeline covering all future activities across all service lines.
- Responsible for creating and overseeing bid, a detailed costed, persuasive bid that aligns with prepared winning strategy defined prior to tender process.
- Develop and implement best practice processes across key areas of the tender process.
- Work with the ASCO Management team to develop a winning strategy, this will include review of potential scope, differentiation on bid and whether contract can be won at sustainable rates.
- Understand the market dynamics across the many sectors ASCO work in, this is critical in determining whether we bid for work or not.
- Assist in pricing activities, working closely alongside Business Analysts and finance teams.
- Lead on commercial and contractual negotiations, working closely alongside relevant internal functions.
- Manage the development of proposals for new and existing customers - providing expert guidance to the business leadership team to ensure all commercial and contracting principles are adhered to.
- Final review of proposal and contract documentation prior to Management approval.
- Manage the preparation and compilation of contract variations and amendments.
- Prepare and maintain annual tenders in line with newly developed tender process now adopted across the Group, this will align with internal contract audit review plan.
- Lead on the communication of substantive changes to client contract values, rates or service.
Minimum Competencies (Skills, Knowledge and Behaviours):
- Energy industry commercial experience
- Creativity, teamwork, self-motivation and enthusiasm critical in deliver quality tender submissions
- Good understanding of contracts and contractual terminology
- Tender writing
- Numeracy and ability to effectively interpret financial information
- Detail focused and obsessive about accuracy and clarity
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent activities effectively
- Ability to meet challenging timelines
- Customer orientated
Minimum Qualifications:
- Degree educated in relevant subject
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable Qualifications:
- Financial background/experience
