Job Description

Duties and responsibilities of a Telehandler/Forklift Driver:

• Forklift operation including reach and extension
• Lift and move materials around site, remaining mindful of load capacities and limitations
• Load and unload materials on site
• Ensure daily checks are carried out prior to operating
• Assisting with site preparation and cleanup, using various bucket attachments
• Working at heights and supporting with high level tasks
• Provide basic maintenance and cleaning to ensure the machine is in good working condition. Ensure faults or issues are reported promptly.
• Communicate effectively – Use hand signals or radios to coordinate lifts and movements.
• Adhering to site safety and remaining compliant with legislations
• Any other reasonable duties as instructed by line manager
  
  

This job description is intended to give the post holder an appreciation of the role envisaged for the Telehandler/Forklift Driver and the range of duties to be undertaken. It does not attempt to detail every activity. Specific tasks and objectives will be agreed with the post holder at regular intervals.

Personal Specification

Essential

• Demonstrate previous site experience in a Telehandler/Forklift Driver role - Ideally with a large contractor.
• Implement strong communication skills.
• Ability to work well in a team.
• Valid CSR/SAFEPASS/CSCS Card.
• Valid CPCS Telehandler Blue card.
• Health & Safety Induction Including Management System.
• First Aid Training.

• Experience on large scale construction projects.
• Ability to read and interpret site plans or instructions.
