We are now hiring a Technical Service Engineer to join our field based, Service Aftermarket Team for the Southern England region.
About The Position
The Technical Service Engineer, reporting to the UK Service Sales Manager, will form a key part of the continuing drive for sales success by ensuring that customers and consumers are given the technical and installation service they require in a timely and efficient manner.
As part of the Service Aftermarket Team you will be at the front line of the business. Your success will rest upon the delivery of the highest standards of technical service and customer satisfaction for the aftermarket Dometic product range.
This role will involve hands on field support for end users, dealers and OEMs as well as product, installation, training, and attendance at trade shows, providing technical support and engineering know how in the recreational, commercial passenger vehicle and hospitality industries.

About The Position

This role will involve hands on field support for end users, dealers and OEMs as well as product, installation, training, and attendance at trade shows, providing technical support and engineering know how in the recreational, commercial passenger vehicle and hospitality industries.
Key Responsibilities
- To provide high level technical support for the relevant Dometic product portfolio to Dealers, Service Partners and End Consumers
- Caravan, motorhome and passenger vehicle appliance installation, testing, servicing, fault finding and repair
- Installation and testing of mobile power solutions (solar) also in the above vehicles
- To be responsible for your own health and safety and aware of other's health and safety at all times.
- Maintain records for Customer Service Assistants / Dealers / Service Partners
- Identify processes and improvements that will drive efficiencies and business growth
- Attend annual trade shows and assist the sales team with technical enquiries
- Supporting customers via telephone, email, teams
- The post-holder may be asked to take on different tasks as required, and all employees are expected to work collaboratively to support the overall goals of Dometic.
Skills & Requirements
- 2-3 + years of equipment service and support (mechanical or electrical), repair and fault finding
- Must have installation, service or repair experience of at least one of the following:
- Refrigeration (absorption, compressor, thermo-electric)
- Air conditioning (including heat pumps)
- Electronics (inverters, charging systems, rectifiers, generators, power management)
- Cooking appliances (LPG, electric, alcohol)
- The successful candidate will also need experience of dealing directly with customers/consumers
- Formal qualification in either refrigeration, electronics, automotive electrics or another appropriate discipline (level 3 NVQ or an equivalent) would be beneficial
- A full UK driving licence is required
- Practical experience in a Service and Customer facing environment
- High level of numeracy and good attention to detail.
- Computer literate, experience with Excel and CRM system
- Friendly, helpful, and manner which can be maintained even under pressure.
- Ability to provide written technical support using correct and clear language
- Confident and professional appearance and manner
- Must be solutions orientated
- Must have good organisational skills
