BASF Coatings UK Limited supplies Automotive OEM and component manufacturers with all four layers of coatings – e-coats, primers, basecoats and clearcoats. We have a significant presence of service staff across the UK’s car and automotive components manufacturing plants. Our Automotive Refinish coatings are approved by most of the leading manufacturers for use in their authorised bodyshops. We focus on ecoefficient waterborne and high-solids coatings with low solvent content. We supply Glasurit and R-M refinish paints and provide staff training.

Location: Base will be our UK headquarters in Stockport, however this role will be predominantly remote working, with frequent travel to sites across the UK.

Responsibilities
We are currently looking for a Technical Sales Specialist to cover the Southwest region and South Wales. You will be responsible for:
- Providing expert guidance and advice on our Glasurit(C) product range to existing and new automotive body shops and distributors.
- Working alongside our customers to identify technical and training needs, carry out product demonstrations and installations, ensuring the customer has full and comprehensive knowledge of our systems and application techniques.
- Developing and maintaining existing customer relationships through regular meetings and effective communication.
- Solving customer paint-related problems, identify value-added solutions for product, application and process improvement to enhance their business.
- Identifying new customers in your region, build strong customer relationships and work alongside our commercial and technical teams to identify opportunities for growth.
Qualifications
- The successful candidate should ideally have 5 GCSEs grade 4 and above or equivalent and/or a Level 3 NVQ qualification in Vehicle Body and Paint Operations (Refinishing) or equivalent or IMI Senior Paint Technician Qualification.
- You should have a good understanding and knowledge of paint application, colour matching, tinting and technical expertise of refinish paint systems, processes and applications.
- Ideally you have experience of training others on paint application and processes.
- We are looking for an innovative, self-motivated individual, who is extremely customer-focused, has excellent communication and presentation skills.
- You are competent in the use of various IT software including Microsoft Office.
