The department consists of a growing team of sixty consultants and engineers specialising in Datacentre, Networking and Security, End User Computing, Unified Communications, Platform and Public Cloud solutions; dotted all over the UK.

As a Technical Consultant, you'll join our successful Professional Services team, responsible for engaging in scoping of work, creating technical designs based on customer requirements, producing statement of works that align scope and design and the implementation of technologies for Softcat's customers including (but not limited to) core Microsoft cloud and on-premises technologies such as Identity Management using Active Directory / Entra ID and M365 workloads.

As Technical Consultant - Hybrid Infrastructure, you'll be responsible for:
- Engaging with customers at all levels to help formulate and deliver robust technical solutions
- Assisting with pre-sales, sales and customer focused conversations as they relate to hybrid infrastructure and modern workplace technologies
- Understanding client and stakeholder requirements to assist with planning and delivering technical work packages as part of a project or programme
- Ensuring that delivered technical solutions are functional, fit for purpose and that handover and relevant documentation is provided to our customers
- Creating and performing proof-of-concepts using Microsoft's hybrid and modern workplace technologies
- Play an active role in the continued growth of the Professional Services business through engagement with the internal sales teams
- Hold a vendor or industry certification in more than one certification track
- Recognised as a subject matter expert in hybrid infrastructure technologies, combining vendor interoperability knowledge of complex IT infrastructures
- Proven experience collaborating with customer stakeholders at a technical, management and executive level
- Good analytical skills and a proven ability to think creatively to solve problems
