Responsibilities

WSP is seeking a Business/Technical Assistant to join our Communities & Mobility Business, working with Local Authority clients based in the South West of England, responsibilities include;

  • Support the local team of Highways Engineers with managing road space bookings for a variety of engineering projects.
  • Assist with Client purchasing for small & large engineering projects.
  • Supporting project managers in programme and finance reporting
  • Production of and monitoring of Key Performance Indicators on contracts
  • Assist with tracking of framework projects from inception to completion.
  • Maintenance of project financial data in a variety of formats
  • Assist with retrieval of documents from WSP systems for invoicing purposes.
  • Assist with the updating of client financial systems
  • Uploading of deliverables to client systems on project completion.
  • Issuing & tracking of monthly reporting information across a wide number of Project Managers and reporting to Clients
  • Track usage of project resources.

Our primary Clients are Local Authorities within the South West. We are passionate about supporting Local Authorities to deliver improvements for local communities, prioritising Active Travel and caring about the future of mobility. We have a strong track record of working closely with our clients and this role provides a great opportunity to support teams in the delivery of projects and achieving Client Satisfaction.

Our strong, supportive Highway and Bridges Team would love to hear from you. Our team owns projects through their entire life cycle, from inception to construction. We work collaboratively with other WSP teams across disciplines and global locations. We enjoy our work and are exceptionally enthusiastic people who are great at what we do. This is an excellent opportunity for you to develop in your career through exposure to a wide variety of experiences supporting an Engineering Team.

Our office is in Exeter city centre. The South West has a wonderful variety of landscapes and activities to enjoy, and has good transport links to the rest of the country.

Qualifications

  • The ability to prioritise, to achieve deadlines and to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to collaborate with multiple teams across the business to successfully support a range of project related tasks.
  • An eye for detail, can communicate effectively & work independently and efficiently. 
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft 365, including Word, PowerPoint & Excel.
  • Strong verbal & written communication skills, with excellent attention to detail
  • A minimum of5 GCSE's or equivalent including Maths & English.
  • Display a flexible & adaptable approach.
  • Have good prioritisation skills,
  • Be able to collaborate and communicate effectively with other colleagues in UK & across the globe.
