We have an exciting opportunity to work within the Estates & Facilities Division and as such we are looking to appoint a highly motivated and conscientious individual to work as a Technical Administrator.
The ever changing needs and demands of clinical and nursing practices expected by the patient continue at pace within the NHS and none
more so than in the technological changes and advances in medical equipment and devices. There is an increasing requirement for Technical
and Administration skills to meet these continually evolving demands.
Continued service development is therefore required of all Technical Assistants within the department in order to meet these demands and
expectations. It is in this continued development role that the duties and responsibilities of this position have been assessed in order to meet
these requirements
Main duties of the job
The post-holder will communicate effectively with all members of Technical & Clinical staff ensuring understanding of issues and developments. This will include providing and receiving complex and technical information where persuasive, negotiating and re-assurance skills will be required.
Provide Technical & Clinical advice and guidance to all levels of staff on decontamination issues and procedures, equipment storage,
battery maintenance on rechargeable devices.
Perform Technical & Administration duties required as directed by Specialist Medical Engineering Technicians or Head of EBME. To
understand a range of work processes and procedures to which the majority would be non-routine and will require a level of knowledge and
formal training.

Qualifications And Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Good level of general education.
- BTEC/NVQ Level 3 Certificate or Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Administration or Clinical Healthcare or Level 2 with equivalent demonstrable experience.
- Knowledge of administration procedures and systems including task related problem solving.
- ICT qualification
Essential criteria
- The ability to display a working knowledge and understanding the terminology associated with Medical Equipment & Devices.
- Work experience within healthcare
- Experience of Stock Control/Management
- Work experience within a clinical environment to assist front line diagnosis of patient connected devices

- An aptitude for engineering and administration skills.
- Good manual dexterity.
- I.T literate
- Ability to follow departmental and organisational procedures.
- Demonstrate organisational, interpersonal and operational skills.
- Ability to produce written and verbal reports.
- Competent user of Oracle e-Procurement system
- Ability to be independently mobile to meet the needs of the role
- Familiar with using I.T packages such as Microsoft Word, Excel, or equivalent software.
- Ability to demonstrate a good standard of record keeping.
- A basic knowledge of Anatomy & Physiology.
- Basic understanding of Medical Equipment Management databases.
