Working with our Employment team in Birmingham. Providing full support to Head of Department as well as the team on the ground. In addition, when capacity allows, ad hoc virtual support to the rest of the nationwide team might be required via monitored mailbox. You’ll be a key member of the team acting as a key point of contact for internal stakeholders (fee-earners), clients and third parties involved in legal matters. You’ll work closely with our fee-earners within the Employment department to support them with any administrative, secretarial and non-billable tasks as well as working hard to provide exceptional client service.

You will be:
- Communicating with our clients and third parties on behalf of Partners and other fee-earners
- Proactively supporting the team by creating strong working relationships to take tasks on and continue with them on own initiative with no need of supervision
- Daily coordinating of other support functions within the business to deliver successful completion of large variety of administrative tasks
- Managing fee-earner diaries, booking travel arrangements, preparing agendas and minute taking at meetings
- Supporting Head of Department Partner with Birmingham based events, meetings and fully coordinating diary. Making the most from office days for building strong and effective working relationship and ensuring fluidity and flexibility of workload is established.
- Coordinating the billing process to be as efficient and effective as possible
- Opening and closing files, and dealing with all matter maintenance
- Opportunity to undertake some simple legal tasks such as court forms or support akin to paralegal duties
- Legal assistant/secretarial experience working with experienced fee-earners would be desirable, however we would be open to candidates who have experience of administration/secretarial experience in a professional environment
- A good understanding and knowledge of relevant case management systems
- Brilliant client care skills and good verbal and written communication skills
