Do you recognise adolescence as a difficult time? Do you have empathy for young people who struggle to navigate the changes? Do you have the creativity, innovation, and drive to lead impactful interventions? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you!
We are looking for a Team Leader to cover Redruth and Carn Brea Foyer - which are supported accommodation for young people aged 16-25. You will support our team manager to work collaboratively with young people, colleagues and external organisations to enhance and promote the life experiences and independent skills of young people. You may provide key worker support for some young people through advocacy and 1-2-1 support.
We take a strength-based approach, called Advantaged Thinking, in all the work we do; encouraging young people experiencing homelessness to aim high, dream big and fulfil their ambitions.
You will be able to motivate colleagues to be their best; to meet targets and standards; to go the extra mile for young people. We are looking for someone who really cares about the Service, about young people, and who understands the impact of trauma, and how to respond to contextual harm. You will support our practitioners to be resilient and persistent; be solution-focussed; look past challenging behaviours; build positive relationships with young people and those that work with them, and to inspire young people to reach their potential.
You will support the team manager to deliver a highly effective and impactful team; delivering high quality services for young people in need of supported accommodation and support services.
Every day is different; you could be delivering colleague supervision, reviewing a risk assessment, supporting a young person, contributing to a multi-agency meeting or supporting group activities as part of the learning programme.
We want you to be able to bring your own personality. Our young people come from a wide range of backgrounds and we try to mirror that in our staff team.
This role is being offered on a full-time, permanent basis, working 37 hours per week on a rolling rota, to include bank holidays and will work one weekend in four. Bandwidth hours will be 8 am to 10 pm. You will have a flexible approach to hours as team members will work shifts including nights and weekends.
