We were formed in April 2001 through the merger of the Society of St Dismas (founded in 1962) and St Petroc Housing association (founded in 1972). Both organisations shared a passion for housing and supporting vulnerable single people.
Our vision today is to give people who are homeless, vulnerable or in need of support, the opportunity to build a brighter future.
We have services in Berkshire, Hampshire, Portsmouth, Southampton and Sussex.
We support 16-65 year olds. Our services include outreach to rough sleepers, supported accommodation (direct access hostels, move-on accommodation, and resettlement flats), day centres, community support, housing first and landlord support services.

Main Responsibilities
- You will support your team to achieve their potential through regular staff supervision and coaching and support them with their workload where needed
- You will be involved in the recruitment of your team, including relief staff and volunteers and be responsible for ensuring appropriate shift cover
- Attend relevant meetings regarding young people or with stakeholders/commissioners, where required
- Collate and produce reports where required
- Ensure staff are supporting young people in areas such as substance use, health and wellbeing, life skills, money management and managing their tenancies
- Work with external partners to maximise the opportunities available to young people so that they can resettle in the community
- Help to maintain a welcoming, safe environment, identifying and minimising all potential risks to all our young people, visitors to the service and the building
- You will manage young people and visitors in the immediate external areas and any associated safety issues
- Carry out quality checks on our young people’s support records to ensure organisational standards are upheld
- Ensure the completion of our Health & Safety checks and ensure information is recorded accurately on internal systems in accordance with Health and Safety regulations
- Follow our organisational policies and procedures
- Ensure an effective and timely response to all complaints and
- Ensure our young people are kept safe, working within our organisational and the local authorities safeguarding procedures
- Attend supervision, appraisal, training and meetings as directed which may be outside of your normal working pattern
- Work flexibly across all areas of operation where required and prior notice given
- Be part of the on–call service for Wokingham Services
- Any other reasonable task as requested by a member of staff

- Clear verbal and written English and great communication skills
- Basic IT and keyboard skills
- Polite, assertive manner
- Passion for working in a client/customer facing role
- Have an interest and genuine concern for homelessness and related issues
- Experience of working in a residential or institutional or similar
- Knowledge of voluntary and statutory agencies
