We are looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join an Alternative Provision / Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Harlow. This full-time position offers a contract role, ideal for someone passionate about supporting students with behavioural needs in a nurturing and structured environment.

As a Teaching Assistant in an Alternative Provision / PRU setting, you will provide tailored support to students who require additional guidance to engage in learning and personal development. This role requires a calm, empathetic, and proactive approach, as you will work closely with teaching staff to support students both academically and emotionally. Key Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with behavioural and emotional needs.
• Work collaboratively with teachers to create a safe and inclusive learning environment.
• Assist in the planning and delivery of tailored learning interventions.
• Support students in developing social skills, self-regulation, and academic progress.
• Monitor and report on student progress, adapting support strategies as needed.
  
  

Qualifications And Experience

• Previous experience working in a PRU or Alternative Provision setting is preferred.
• Understanding of behaviour management strategies and how to support students with challenging behaviours.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage students, staff, and parents.
• A positive and empathetic approach to supporting students with complex needs.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
