Summary

We are looking for a caring and passionate individual to join our dedicated team of Support Worker (Health Needs) in our Support Living services in Swansea. We have 2 x 30 hour part time, permanent posts available. This service operates 24/7, requiring flexibility with shifts, including:

  • Day shifts can vary from: 7:30 am – 3:00 pm or 3:00 pm – 9:30 pm or 11:00am - 7pm
  • Waking night shifts: 9:30 pm – 7:30 am (additional £12.15 + 20%)
  • Sleep-in shifts: In addition to day shifts (additional £62.64 per shift) You will work as part of a rolling rota that ensures consistent support for the individuals in our care. Flexibility is key to success in this role. *This position is open to women only due to the specific support needs of the individuals at this service. *A full UK manual driving licence is essential for this role, as driving mobility vehicles is a key requirement to support those in our care. What is the role?

This service is in Ystrad Mynach and at the home of 2 fun-loving and creative individuals with learning and physical disabilities. This is a high support need service and will be working with these incredible individuals to enhance their various skills and support them with daily activities.

One of the Individuals we support has their Medication Administered via PEG – All relevant Training and competency signs off will be completed, so experience is beneficial but not essential.

What skills and experience do you need?

A background of working with people with physical or mental health needs is desired, but not necessary as full training and support from senior staff and management is provided.  More important are;

  • An enthusiasm and passion for making a difference to people’s lives
  • A strong initiative and ability to work alone as well as being a great team player.

What are the pay and benefits?

  • An hourly rate of £12.15 making the annual salary £23,376 (FTE)
  • Sleep in Rate - £62.64
  • Wakeful night rate - £12.15 + 20%
