Elekta

Date: 3 weeks ago
City: Crawley
Contract type: Full time
We don’t just build technology. We build hope.

Are you passionate about driving supplier excellence and ensuring the highest quality standards in a global procurement environment?

Elekta Group is seeking a Supplier Development and Quality Engineer to join our dynamic team.

Operating across key regions—including the UK, Netherlands, Sweden, China, the Americas, and APAC—our centralized procurement function plays a critical role in delivering quality and efficiency. In this role, you will be a specialist in supplier quality and development processes, working across multiple sites and regions to drive continuous improvement.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to our global Supplier Development and Quality strategy, working within a matrix organization that fosters collaboration and innovation. If you have expertise in supplier management, process improvement, and quality assurance, we invite you to be part of a team that is shaping the future of procurement excellence at Elekta Group.

Apply today and take the next step in your career with us!

What you’ll do at Elekta:

  • Manage supplied material quality issues raised by factories, installations, suppliers, and customers through NCR and CLM processes. Work with suppliers to ensure effective containment, root cause analysis (8D, 5-Whys, Fishbone, DOE), and CAPA implementation to prevent recurrence.
  • Develop proactive quality plans with suppliers to promote a zero-defect culture, reducing the need for upstream inspection and testing.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers, procurement teams, R&D, manufacturing, and service teams, ensuring customer requirements are met.
  • Conduct part approvals on new and changed parts, ensuring compliance with specifications through inspections, process audits, and documentation checks.
  • Apply Core Quality Tools (APQP, FMEA, PPAP, MSA) to proactively enhance supplied product quality.
  • Ensure supplier compliance with ISO13485, 9001, and Elekta’s Quality Agreement (QAA) requirements through audits, risk assessments, and follow-up actions.
  • Support supplier selection and development initiatives to meet procurement QCDIM targets, including supplier training in best practices (LEAN, Six Sigma, Value Stream Mapping, DFM, DFA, PFMEA, and Process Validation).
  • Drive quality into new product development (NPI, PCP, Engineering Change Process) by bridging suppliers, engineering teams, and historical quality performance.
  • Manage supplier QCDIM performance and compliance documentation to ensure continuous improvement and audit readiness.
  • Support cost-reduction initiatives by providing manufacturing engineering expertise and supplier development resources.

The right stuff:

  • Highly motivated team player who leads by example.
  • Excellent communication skills and able to deal with people at all levels.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and positive influencing skills, capable of working on own initiative whilst also being an effective team player.
  • Capable of representing the quality and development functions at all levels both inside and outside the company.
  • Flexible with work patterns and travel up to 40%.
  • Demonstrable record of delivering stretching targets and successfully managing concurrent tasks.
  • Able to work in a matrix environment and work independently.

What you bring:

  • We encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet every requirement—your unique skills and experiences might be exactly what we're looking for!
  • A strong engineering, manufacturing, and supplier quality/development background is essential.
  • A minimum of HNC in an engineering discipline or equivalent.
  • Demonstrable experience of driving supplier quality improvements using best practice tools and processes.
  • Successful and demonstrable experience of facilitating improvement workshops.
  • Well-developed IT skills.
  • Fluent in English, preferably with a second language.

What you’ll get:

In this role, you will work for a higher purpose; hope for everyone dealing with cancer, and for everyone regardless of where in the world, to have access to the best cancer care. In addition to this, Elekta offers a range of benefits.

  • Hybrid work option (you are required to work from the Crawley HQ at least 3 days/week)
  • Up to 25 paid vacation days (plus bank holidays)
  • Holiday Purchase Scheme
  • Private Medical Insurance
  • Attractive Employer Pension Contribution Package
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Life Assurance
  • Onsite subsidized restaurant, offering budget-friendly dining
  • Love electric (Electric vehicle salary sacrifice scheme)
