Position Summary:

Thermo Fisher Scientific, Warrington specialises in Ultra-Clean manufacturing, producing PCR kits for Human Identification, Capillary Electrophoresis, Pharma Analytics, and qPCR business units, as well as some regulated diagnostic products.

As a Value Stream Supervisor, you will lead your team to achieve Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, and Efficiency goals within an assigned value stream, driving business success!

Responsibilities:

  • Provides leadership direction to team members of designated Product Value Stream. Works closely and establishes trust with personnel across a variety of departments and functions within the facility and with external customers.
  • Develop, maintain, and deliver on the team strategy, team goals, and performance indicators to routinely report to relevant leadership, identifying and addressing risks, and raising appropriately.
  • Maintain staff by hiring, training, and developing for personal growth. Ensure employees follow company policies and be responsible for performance management of your team.
  • Responsible for achievement of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory and Efficiency goals of assigned value stream.
  • Safety: Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment and a high level of safety awareness among associates.
  • Lead and direct the supervised areas to manufacture high-quality products safely and promptly, surpassing customer expectations.
  • Delivery & Inventory: Meet production demands by efficiently scheduling and assigning personnel, prioritising tasks, supervising progress, resolving problems, and reporting results to maintain appropriate stock and inventory.
  • Streamlining: Drives the implementation of PPI-Lean Enterprise (Thermo Fisher Scientific continuous improvement methodology) and applies PPI Problem Solving methodology to streamline all processes by eliminating waste.

Education

  • A-levels/college certification or equivalent required. BSc or equivalent experience helpful but not crucial.

Experience

  • Must have proven track experience in a manufacturing/operations or related fast-paced environment, preferably in clinical, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology .
  • Experienced people leader.
  • Experience with ISO 9001, ISO 13485, and/or GMP manufacturing environments would be beneficial.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems, manufacturing operations e.g. Formulations, filling, packaging, storage and distribution technology and operations in regulated / forensics environments.
  • Experience of process improvement delivery.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Ability to communicate effectively to subordinates, peers, and leadership.
  • Skilled in utilising CI tools to proactively collect, analyse, and review data to make improvements in manufacturing processes.
  • Highly skilled in leadership abilities such as coaching, mentoring, and developing successful teams with regular, impactful 1:1's with your employees.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

The role is inclusive of desk based work and active involvement in your team's processes to support regular Gemba and PPI initiatives. There will be occasions were entering and working from a warehouse environment and ultraclean environment will be required.
