Contract type: Part time
Our Media is a leading special-interest content business, based in the buzzing, creative city of Bristol. We're home to market-leading brands in craft, cycling, science and nature, homes and music.

We help our audiences pursue their passions through highly trusted, original content – in print, video and online. Our much-loved brands include BBC Science Focus, BBC Wildlife Magazine, Your Home, Gathered.how, BikeRadar and Cycling Plus.

We also have an award-winning content agency that works with major charities, brands and membership organisations to help them tell their stories and engage audiences better – in print, video, and online.

Position:

The Studio Manager will play a key role in shaping and supporting the agency's evolution in 2025. This is an exciting time for OMA as we reimagine our ways of working and the impact of what we do.

Working across a diverse set of clients and inspiring creative projects, the Studio Manager will work with creative and account teams to scope and schedule work. Crucially this role is the lynchpin contact for our wide network of external creative specialists. The Studio Manager will work alongside our 50-strong internal agency team to match specialist resources to projects and to manage, nurture and expand our network of external content and creative contributors.

We're looking for someone who understands how agencies work and enjoys learning and applying existing knowledge of the creative process. You’ll work with teams to understand workstreams, client needs and how different skills contribute to projects.

While you’ll be supported at every turn, the emphasis will be on autonomy; you’ll enjoy being empowered to make decisions and find solutions to challenges.

This is a really exciting role for a creative studio professional who relishes the opportunity to work with the team to build and shape our new studio management function where there has previously been a gap in our ways of working. This new role is an opportunity to showcase your detailed time and project management skills, alongside your aptitude for building positive relationships with stakeholders and creative contributors, in a friendly, growing agency with great employee benefits.

Please note, this role is a part time position for 21 hours per week. For a full list of responsibilities, please see the attached job description.

Requirements:

We’re looking for a self-motivated problem-solver with experience in creative environments and a strong background in project/studio management. While you’ll work with our project management platform, Float, we looking for someone who is curious about new tools and ways of working, and eager to explore and share insights.

Your role will span scheduling resources, booking freelancers, and sourcing experts across diverse fields. You will thrive on variety, and relish the opportunity to demonstrate your adaptability and agility in response to changing briefs.

Most importantly, you’ll connect with the team, understanding their ways of working and acting as a facilitator and advisor in planning and delivery. With energy and a can-do attitude, you’ll be at the heart of the agency operation.

You will bring:

Essential

  • Project Management experience from agencies in the creative sector.
  • An impressive record of concurrently managing diverse projects with well established brands successfully and to very high levels of client satisfaction.
  • Experience of building healthy relationships with stakeholders, a natural collaborator, negotiator and a confident communicator.
  • Confident use of a range of tools for project management and reporting.

Desirable

  • Curious approach to new ways of working, software and platforms that may add value to the agency in terms of introducing efficiency or expanding internal capabilities.
  • Understanding, rooted in experience, of the processes involved in the creation of creative and content across all key media channels.
  • Comprehensive understanding of project measurement and effectiveness.

Other information:

We respect and value differences. We believe that when people from different backgrounds and with different perspectives work together, we can create the most value for our people, readers, customers, and society. If you are excited about this role but your experience doesn't align perfectly with everything listed in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyway, as you may still be a good fit for this or other roles.

We’re striving to create a more diverse and inclusive environment and to ensure our content is representative of all our audiences. We have established five internal D&I network groups to help our people feel supported and included, and to provide an open environment for people to network, mentor and exchange ideas, solutions, and experiences. If there is anything we can do to make our recruitment process more accessible for you, please do let us know at [email protected].

We also know that working from home brings great benefits in terms of being able to focus on our work, and manage our personal lives around our roles. With this in mind, we have established a hybrid working pattern, with 60% of the working week spent in the office.

Our people also benefit from a flexi time policy, and a flexi location policy which gives everyone the opportunity to work from another location for two weeks during the year.

We are open to discussion about flexible working requests for any flexibility needs not covered by these policies.

Company Benefits Include

  • Pension contribution matched to 5%
  • Season ticket loan
  • Hybrid working pattern, flexi start/finish time
  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, plus Christmas closure, plus your birthday off
