We are looking for an enthusiastic Student Adviser to join our dedicated welfare team. The post holder will provide high-quality advice and support to students, helping them navigate complex welfare issues and access the right interventions at the right time
The post holder should have experience:
  • Working one-to-one with students or clients to assess needs and identify appropriate interventions and support options.
  • Assessing and managing welfare-related risk, including concerns for the safety of the individual and others.
  • Collaborating effectively with internal teams and external agencies to deliver coordinated support.
  • Handling sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Supporting individuals experiencing serious welfare concerns with empathy and compassion.
  • Providing guidance and contributing to the development of policies, procedures and support provision.
  • Delivering or contributing to training sessions related to welfare.
  • Managing a varied caseload, prioritising urgent and complex cases appropriately.
  • Demonstrating awareness of key welfare issues including domestic violence, bullying and harassment, victims of crime, homelessness, and honour-based abuse.

The position we are filling is exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and a satisfactory DBS disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service is required as part of our clearance procedures.
