We have an opportunity for a band 5 worker to provide 9 months maternity cover offering structured clinical management to individuals with personality disorder. We are looking for an enthusiastic person who shares our passion and commitment to work with this client group. Structured Clinical Management is a proven approach for working with people diagnosed with emotionally unstable personality disorders. Training will be provided, and this offers an exciting opportunity to join an established group of therapists to offer a quadrant wide therapy service within the adult community mental health team, as well as joining the wider network of therapists across the trust. The service works to meet the needs of service users who are experiencing significant difficulties with emotional instability and working within the local multi-disciplinary community teams. We pride ourselves on the quality of the service that we offer and place importance on supporting all our therapists to provide great care, with an emphasis placed on maintaining and developing skills and regular supervision.

This post would suit someone with a core mental health qualification and registration (including those recently qualified in nursing, social work, occupational therapy, or other appropriately registered therapists - see person spec for details) or a psychology graduate (eligible for BPS registration) with more than 2 years’ experience in community mental health settings. The successful applicants will also have an interest in working collaboratively with service users to develop their skills to improve their ability to tolerate and manage strong emotion. It would suit someone who loves working as part of a team and alongside multidisciplinary colleagues. Ideally we are looking for someone with experience of working with this service user group in any care setting, or someone who has transferable skills.
