Our client has a solid and sustainable order book, this role offers great exposure in the business to an ambitious Strategic Buyer seeking an opportunity to lead from the front in delivering cost and efficiency's.

Description

This opportunity for Procurement Specialist seeking an opportunity to further develop and work with a great deal of autonomy to bring your procurement expertise to develop and deliver strategy for a global manufacturing organisation.

The Strategic Buyer (Indirect) role offers great exposure to senior business stakeholders and suppliers you will be instrumental in delivering cost and efficiency gains across an indirect goods and services portfolio including FM, Cleaning, Waste and Security in addition you will supporting multiple CAPEX projects of work.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage Procurement spend for assigned commodities, source and purchase goods and services to meet operational and business needs, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality.
  • Actively seek new sources of supply to meet existing and future requirements
  • Act as a commodity lead for assigned group contracts collaborating with other procurement teams
  • Be the commercial subject matter expert for the local management team and attend reviews to provide advice and support to facilitate tactical and strategic decisions.
  • Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships, track performance, and resolve any delivery or service issues
  • Lead the procurement of indirect goods and facility services and negotiate contracts
  • Support capital equipment purchases
  • Ensure all purchasing activities comply with company compliance
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements to enhance the procurement function

Profile

To be a successful Strategic Buyer you will be able to evidence your track record of delivering cost and/or efficiency's and should have:

  • Proven experience in procurement or supply chain management for goods/services/works
  • Ideally exposure to CAPEX Programmes of work
  • Great communication skills
  • Negotiation skills and experience of supplier contracts
  • Knowledge of procurement systems and processes.
  • Ability to build and maintain supplier relationships effectively.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality assurance.
  • Proficiency with relevant software and data analysis tools.
