Assistant Shop Manager - Step Up and Make a Real Impact in Trowbridge!
Location: DEBRA Shop, Trowbridge
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Part-time - 21 hours per week (3 days over 7, including rotated weekend shifts)
Pay: £12.71 per hour/£13,879.32 per annum
Are you ready to take the next step in your retail career? DEBRA is looking for a proactive and hands-on Assistant Shop Manager to join our team in Trowbridge.
This is a keyholder role with real leadership responsibility. You’ll support the Shop Manager in daily operations and confidently step in when they’re not present. With flexibility to cover additional shifts when required, and a monthly rota provided in advance, this role offers both structure and variety.

Your Role
This is a physically active, customer-facing role where you’ll:
- Support the Shop Manager in running day-to-day operations
- Act as keyholder and take charge when the Manager is absent
- Lead and motivate volunteers and sales assistants
- Handle donated stock - sorting, pricing, and moving items
- Create engaging displays and maintain a clean, organised shop floor
- Deliver excellent customer service and promote Gift Aid
- Manage financial transactions and ensure shop security
- Maintain compliance with health & safety and trading standards
- Previous retail experience and a passion for customer service
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Confidence to manage the shop independently when needed
- Physical fitness and comfort with manual handling
- A proactive, organised approach and a positive attitude
- Flexibility to work across a 7-day rota and cover additional shifts when required
