Stock Management Operative (M/F/D)

The Opportunity

Avantor is looking for a Stock Management Operative to join our team based in Elstree, UK. In this role, you’ll be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of our Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) service, ensuring the accurate and efficient management of stock across a regulated pharmaceutical environment.

This is a full-time, permanent position based at a customer site in Elstree. Alongside a competitive salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package including a pension scheme, private medical and dental care, and an additional day off for your birthday.

Working hours: Monday to Friday, core hours

The Team

You’ll be part of a collaborative and supportive on-site team of three associates, working closely with colleagues and the Site Operations Manager to ensure materials are received, stored, and distributed safely and efficiently across the site.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience in stores, warehouses, or inventory management
• A valid UK driving licence (essential); forklift experience is desirable
• Familiarity with GMP environments and SHE requirements
• Strong customer service skills and the ability to work collaboratively
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and inventory management systems
• Excellent attention to detail, communication, and time management skills
• Physical fitness to handle manual tasks and stock movement

• Receive goods and perform quality checks in line with site procedures
• Manage stock using internal inventory systems and process orders for internal delivery
• Replenish consumables and chemicals to lab stores and in-lab points of use
• Distribute parcels across the site using a company vehicle
• Respond to customer requests efficiently and professionally
• Support health & safety compliance, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Ensure all training and documentation are completed and up to date
