Position
An opportunity has arisen for a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist in Stroke Rehabilitation based at Douglas Grant Rehabilitation Centre, Ayrshire central Hospital
What You Will Do
We are looking for an enthusiastic and innovative Speech and Language Therapist to join our team in North Ayrshire, based at the Douglas Grant Rehabilitation Centre. You will have specialist skills in working with adults with acquired communication and swallowing difficulties post stroke. You will work collaboratively with patients and carers, as well as the multi-disciplinary team, to deliver effective and comprehensive rehabilitation to people, post stroke, across North Ayrshire.
There is close collaboration with the SLT Adult Acquired Team based in Crosshouse Hospital, and there is ongoing access to all tertiary services based in Crosshouse, e.g. Videofluoroscpy.
You will be expected to assess, treat and manage a shared caseload and provide clinical support and leadership to students, SLTAs, rehab support workers and Band 5 SLTs.

Knowledge, Training And/or Experience Required To Do The Job
Experience of working in a multi-agency environment, delivering change and service improvement are important components of this post.
You will be expected to demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills with a proven ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
You must hold a University Degree or equivalent (3 years ordinary degree/4 year's Honours degree). Certificate to practise from HCPC (Health Care Professions Council) and have a Post Graduate Qualification in Dysphagia. Membership of Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists is desirable. Regular support and supervision as well as opportunities to enhance your knowledge and skills will be provided and you will have access to recognised evidence based training programmes and as well as local training opportunities. You will be expected to demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills with a proven ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Hours: 37 hours per week
UK Driving Licence/Car Ownership
