Specialist Physiotherapist - Accident and Emergency/MSK
University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust
Date: 4 weeks ago
City: Worthing
Contract type: Full time
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic B7 physiotherapist to join our MSK service. This is a rotational role working in both the urgent treatment centre and the MSK department. In the urgent treatment centre, you will work as part of the multidisciplinary team, alongside other health care professionals such as emergency nurse practitioners and Doctors. This is a fast-paced environment, requiring you to be able to work autonomously to provide advanced assessment, diagnosis and treatment for a variety of acute MSK presentations. Prior experience of requesting and interpreting x-rays and blood tests is desirable, but training can be provided as necessary. You will also be given training on skills specific to the urgent treatment centre setting if this is an area you have not worked in previously.
During your MSK rotation, you will work as a Band 7 team lead, working with the other team leads as well as B8a staff, to manage the department. This will give you the opportunity to develop your leadership skills and lead on service development projects. You will also manage a complex clinical caseload as well as providing clinical support to less experienced staff as needed. You will have regular supervision from one of the B8a clinicians and will have the opportunity to attend and contribute to the inservice training programme. We are a dynamic and friendly team and would support the successful candidate in progressing their career.
We treat our patients and staff with the same compassion and empathy we expect for ourselves. We’re here for them when they need us, and we go above and beyond to meet their needs. This can be seen in our Wellbeing Programme for staff which is extensive and designed to support you when you need it, including where possible, flexible working to support work life balance - because we know that to look after others we must first look after ourselves.
As a university trust and a leader in healthcare research, we value learning, teaching and training so that we can be the best that we can be. From the moment you start with us and throughout your career we will help you to grow and develop. We hope that in choosing UHSussex you are choosing a long and happy career where you will be able to see the difference you make and feel valued for all that you do.
We look forward to receiving your application and the start of your journey with UHSussex.
