Job Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen within Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust for a 0.19 WTE Band 7 Specialist Dietitian for Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice. This is a part time role of 7 hours per week.
The post holder will primarily focus on managing malnutrition in the Hospice community setting, working closely with the Multi-disciplinary team. This role will be the lead specialist for the Hospice dietetic service and will involve both individual nutrition assessments and group presentations.
This is an excellent opportunity to develop skills and knowledge within this specialism and you will also be encouraged and supported to work on audit and quality improvement projects relating to the service. This role may include some line management responsibilities.
Our department is a well-established team with dietitians working across many specialities. Our department values each individual within the team by supporting wellbeing, personal development and regular supervision.
This position is fixed term until July 2026 with the potential to be extended/made permanent. Flexible work options would be considered.

Main duties of the job
- Lead specialist for Hospice Dietetic Service
- To lead on service development
- To lead on relevant activities/projects
- To provide assessment, treatment and management of patients within Phyllis Tuckwell who require nutrition support
- To provide specialist advice, support training and practical resources for the management of malnutrition, including nutritional screening, food fortification and the appropriate use of prescribed nutritional supplements

Essential criteria
- Recognised degree in nutrition and dietetics or equivalent
- HCPC registration
- Advanced communication course e.g. Advanced counselling skills, Motivational interviewing, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy
- Member of BDA
- Active member of special interest clinic group
- Evidence of further postgraduate study up to MSc level or equivalent
Essential criteria
- Experience of working within the speciality or other relevant experience
- Experience of MDT working
- Leadership experience
- Experience of student supervision
- Experience of community/palliative care
