Salary: £13.68 - £16.12 per hour (Depending on experience)

GSL Education are excited to invite a dedicated and compassionate Special Needs Care Worker to join a supportive and inclusive school in Poole!

About The Role

As a Special Needs Care Worker, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care and tailored support to individuals with a range of special needs. Working closely with teachers, therapists, and support teams, you will ensure that each person receives the physical, emotional, and educational assistance they need to thrive.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities of the Special Needs Care Worker:

  • Assisting individuals with personal care, mobility, and daily living tasks.
  • Providing one-on-one and group support to promote independence and engagement.
  • Implementing individual care and education plans in collaboration with professionals.
  • Supporting communication and social development through therapeutic and interactive activities.
  • Assisting in behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies.
  • Ensuring a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment for all individuals.
  • Monitoring progress and reporting to SEN coordinators, families, and healthcare teams.

Requirements Of The Special Needs Care Worker

  • Previous experience in SEN care, healthcare, or support work (desirable but not essential).
  • A compassionate and patient approach when working with individuals with additional needs.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with professionals and families.
  • Basic knowledge of safeguarding and health & safety procedures (training can be provided).
  • Relevant qualifications in care, SEN support, or education (desirable but not essential).
  • The ability to adapt to different care needs and learning environments.
  • Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
