Description

Job Title: Backend Engineer

Job Location: Remote or Sunbury on Thames(hybrid)

Contract Length: Until 31st March 2026 (Possibility of extension)

Industry: Oil and Gas

Working Hours: 8 per day/ 40 per week

Dynamo Backend Engineer

Role Overview:

  • Design, develop and test new features for our expanding product suite.
  • Develop new scalable Microservices and enhance existing services.
  • Contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle
  • Work independently and own feature development from concept to delivery.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team and contribute to the overall design of the system.
  • Develop automated tests and conduct performance tuning
  • Join on-call rota for platform support
  • Contribute to code reviews

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, computer science, software engineering or similar.
  • 7+ years’ experience in software development, spanning backend, cloud infrastructure and large scale systems
  • Experience with Go services deployed to Kubernetes
  • Experience with Microservices, gRPC, containerisation and Event-driven architectures
  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
  • Strong understanding of modern Domain Driven Design or similar methodologies
  • Knowledge of SOLID principles and Test Driven Development
  • Experience with managing cloud platforms in either Azure of AWS, including Infrastructre as Code tools and site reliability engineering practices
  • Experience with DevOps, Gitops and CI/CD pipelines
  • Familiar with Event Sourcing architecture
  • Familiar with .Net web service development
