As an OS Frameworks Engineer, you will be instrumental in building the foundational frameworks that power our next generation experiences. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, leverage your expertise in OS internals, and contribute to the development of tools, system architecture, and infrastructure that will shape the future of our products.

The position has a duration of 4 months initially, with the option to be extended afterwards.

What You’ll Do

• Analyze industry and company-wide technology trends to inform the development of new technologies.
• Empower teams to deliver exceptional experiences for current and future products.
• Enhance OS internals and provide technical direction for significant improvements.
• Contribute to the development of tools, system architecture, frameworks, and infrastructure for operating systems, kernel development, low-level debugging, system profiling, and performance optimization.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to define requirements, design interfaces for new software frameworks, and improve existing ones.
• Develop APIs in the system-level framework layer to enable other teams to build compelling and high-performance applications.
• Elevate coding and design practices within the team through code reviews and the introduction of best practices.
• Clearly communicate complex features and systems while advocating for product quality and engineering efficiency.
  
  

Must-Haves

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Min 4 years of software development experience.
• Extensive experience with Android (preferred), Linux, or MacOS internals or frameworks services. Alternatively, experience developing embedded engineering solutions in resource-constrained environments.
• 3+ years of experience developing Operating Systems, AOSP, NDK, device management on iOS/Android, Device Security, or Android Enterprise.
• Proficiency in C++ or Java.
  
  

Nice-to-Haves

• Deep understanding of Android internals, AOSP, Android SDK, Android NDK, Android JNI, Android IPC mechanisms, or Linux OS development.
• Experience with Android performance tools and security models.
• Experience developing software for mobile platforms (Android/iOS).
• Familiarity with Android UI frameworks and services.
• Extensive experience with JUnit tests or other unit testing frameworks.
