What You'll Be Doing
Situated within our Development team, the Software Architect is responsible for the provision of technical and team leadership across our architecture function.
This is a 'hands-on' position, with the successful candidate able to demonstrate significant previous experience as an architect or similar, with demonstrable expertise in systems integration & services design as well as delivery of flexible, reliable, supportable, cost-effective IT solution designs in line with business needs and timescales.

Key responsibilities include:
- Ensuring our solutions are built to support our business - they must be affordable, secure, extensible, and scalable
- Provision of governance and guidance for development, implementation, maintenance, support, and evolution of projects
- Gathering early non-functional requirements
- Evaluation of functional requirements captured by our Business Analysts
- Selection of technology stack and deployment methods
- Designing high-level architectural solutions, taking into account risks and constraints
- Review and approval of the technical solution during the project lifecycle.
- Building prototypes to prove project viability if required
- Mentoring technical leads and developers
- Writing code examples
- Setting quality standards and ensuring adherence to them
- Act in a consultancy capacity for testing and deployment
- Technology landscape monitoring to ensure up-to-date and relevant technologies are adopted
- Working with our Product Ownership and Senior Management teams to ensure our solutions are delivering real benefit to our customers.
- Facilitation of workshop sessions with business stakeholders and technical teams in order to deliver solutions
- Working closely with the Head of Security to ensure systems are secure and follow appropriate security protocols

Ciritcal Requirements
- Resident in the UK with valid and unrestricted right to work
- Excellent understanding of software design
- In-depth understanding of Azure services
- Good understanding of DevOps and Continuous Delivery
- Strong development background and good knowledge of .NET
- Commercial experience in architecting and developing enterprise products
- Excellent collaboration, communication, problem solving, analytical and presentation skills
