The Opportunity

Responsible for carrying out routine tasks at a customer site. Under close supervision, provide a wide range of onsite Laboratory and Scientific Services as part of the VWR Catalyst Service offering. Prepare and label laboratory materials including but not limited to biological media, buffers and mobile phases in accordance with procedural documents, site and regulatory requirements. Order and maintain material inventory required to manufacture requested formulations to end users. Manage, coordinate and execute sample receipt and sample shipment, including but not limited to; media powders and components, buffers, in process samples. Preparation and shipment of all samples within as well as outside of the Network to meet the site-specific needs, as per site requirements, procedural documents and regulatory requirements.

About The Role

Are you a natural multitasker with a sharp eye for detail and a knack for logistics? We’re looking for a Shipment Officer to take charge of our complex, high-stakes scientific shipments—supporting world-class researchers and ensuring the safe, compliant movement of sensitive biological and chemical materials.

As our Shipping Coordinator, you’ll play a vital role in keeping science in motion. From regulatory documentation to hands-on packaging support, you’ll manage each shipment from campus to global destination with care, compliance, and confidence.

Your Key Responsibilities

Administrative Mastery

  • Assess shipment needs and flag potential import/export restrictions
  • Identify permit requirements based on material type and destination
  • Prepare shipment-specific documentation (invoices, USDA letters, End-Use letters, etc.)
  • Act as the communication hub for all shipment-related queries
  • Coordinate carrier pick-ups and drop-offs
  • Maintain a detailed shipping record repository and keep our management platform accurate and up to date
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams including Global Trade Compliance, Lab Managers, Facilities, and Scientists

Onsite Logistical Support

  • Assist scientists with packaging and temperature-sensitive shipment prep
  • Collect and consolidate packages across campus
  • Ensure the shipment area is organized, efficient, and safe for all use

What You’ll Bring

  • Previous experience handling shipments in a regulated environment—particularly involving biological or chemical materials—is beneficial, but not essential. Full training will be provided.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Confidence in managing documentation and regulatory detail
  • A proactive, collaborative spirit
  • Comfort working across departments and with external partners
