The CDW Inbound Manager is responsible for leading, directing and developing the CDW LTC Inbound team. The team is comprised of Bulk and ASRS receiving and Reverse Logistics (Returns) and is responsible for the receipt of goods into our Logistics and Technology centre.
To ensure the team and its leaders are aligned and fully understand the expectations of their roles and responsibilities, working collaboratively with each other and the wider leadership team within and outside of the LTC.
To drive and lead engagement throughout the department, being proactive with delivering CDW’s Leadership Model and encouraging the CDW Way code of conduct through all practices.
To be responsible for process and productivity within the Inbound team, at a team and individual level, ensuring SLAs are met, KPIs are used effectively to drive data led decision making and performance management.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
- The successful receipt of all goods into the CDW LTC on a daily basis
- Assured quality of all received goods and quarantine of all below standard goods
- Processing of received goods into CDW’s systems by the agreed SLA on day of receipt
- Effective organisation of people and areas with high standards of hygiene
- A collaborative team that works alongside all other departments within CDW
- A Strong customer focus across all areas of responsibility, including a customer facing area of operation
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Establish accountability within the leadership team to ensure co-workers adhere to standard operating procedures
- Responsible for the performance and results of the teams within the area
- Driving of Health and Safety and Hygiene standards across the department
- Co-ordinate resources and set daily priorities to meet operational targets
- Use knowledge and judgement to identify and resolve technical and operational problems with the team
- Influence others using core people skills
- Use policy, procedure, area plans and priorities to help decision making, supported by Senior leadership
- Manage the team, with support from Senior leadership in a cost-effective manner including:
- Management of overtime usage
- Headcount utilisation
- Effective co-ordination and management of targets across team and individuals.
- Create a cohesive, self-sufficient team that will deal effectively with all operations
- Support and Drive the team to meet their individual and team targets
- Deliver on projects/work streams, as requested by Senior leadership from the point of scoping to delivery.
- Collaborate through cross-functional engagement, stakeholder management whilst ensuring delivery to the required timescales, quality and cost
- Responsible for creating operational reports, using system data, observations and recommendations to ensure that continuous SLAs are adhered to
- Build, maintain and review planning tools to drive productivity within all relative departments
- Develop and drive good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including all relevant operational departments, suppliers and customers where required
- Understand the needs of all departments within the CDW LTC and proactively build and maintain relationships within CDW’s Supply Chain and external Supply chains
- Ensure excellent awareness of Health and Safety requirements within a warehouse/operations environment
- Communicate all relevant and purposeful information throughout the business as required
- Support the overall development of CDW’s Supply chain in any way possible
- Support and cover for absence and holiday for supervisory roles
- Support the development of existing and new KPI’s to accurately measure the performance in all departmental areas
- Ensure daily routines are followed to maintain an exceptionally high level of housekeeping
- Ensure performance management is prioritized, including PMP, 1 to 1 meetings and other performance management tools.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Required Experience:
- Experience of leading and driving a team in a Warehouse environment, ideally including inbound (receiving) operations and reverse logistics
- Experienced in leading through change and driving excellence through motivating and engaging teams, using performance management tools and procedures to ensure team members share in departmental success
- Experience working alongside Coworker success teams (HR, Payroll, Talent Acquisition etc..)
- Experience producing and analysing performance KPIs
- Working to challenging deadlines
Desirable Experience:
- Experience with Automated Warehouse systems (Robotics, Conveyors etc..)
- Working with Suppliers and Vendors to streamline receipts, and raise issues
- Hands-on experience with Lean tools such as 5S, value stream mapping, and Kaizen events.
- Experience driving or contributing to continuous improvement or development initiatives.

- Continuous Improvement Mindset – Familiarity with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies to drive process improvement initiatives. Applies same mindset to own development.
