Location - Quality Assured Industrial Services, covering Hertfordshire & surrounding areas.

We are recruiting a Service Engineer, reporting to the Service Operations Manager.

Job Summary

As a Service Engineer, you will be working across our customer install base. You will be responsible for the service, maintenance, repair and installation of compressors and compressed air equipment. You will ensure work is carried out safely, effectively and efficiently while complying with our safe systems of work and quality procedures. You will be part of a dynamic, pro-active and supportive Service Team and will uphold and demonstrate our core values in your approach and attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Servicing & Repairs – Maintenance, repair & installation of customer equipment in line with the prescribed service schedules. Working on customer paying and warranty jobs delivering a first class experience, and providing detailed and accurate job reports in a timely fashion.
  • Margin control - Assisting with effective margin control by completing tasks correctly first time, within budget and on schedule. Preventing unnecessary re-work and communicating effectively with support staff to ensure work scopes are well defined.
  • Service team - Communicate well with all members of the service team; support staff, engineers and the service manager. Playing a critical role in ensuring work scopes are understood and implemented. Assisting colleagues in relation to technical queries and faults.
  • Health and safety - You will embrace and promote a culture of safety in the workplace and be responsible for ensuring safe systems of work are deployed; monitoring, reporting and closing out EHS incidents as they arise.
  • Troubleshooting - Ensure customers problems and technical queries are resolved in a timely and professional manner, maximizing uptime of the equipment that the depot services.
  • On call – You will be part of an effective 24/7 on call rota to ensure client needs are serviced all year round.
  • Recommendations - You will feed back service recommendation opportunities where applicable to support staff and the sales team so that additional revenue can be captured.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience in the compressed air industry an advantage.
  • Proven diagnostic skills with complicated electrical/ mechanical systems.
  • Experience with high pressure systems or F Gas qualifications desirable.
  • Good interpersonal and IT skills
  • Desire to provide a high quality of workmanship & ‘can do’ attitude
  • Current UK driving license

Work & Travel Arrangements

  • Field based position, operating from home with requirements to travel in line with the role.

Key Competencies

  • Experience in the Compressed Air industry highly desirable.
  • Competency in mechanical and electrical engineering / machine maintenance.
  • Experience of electrical & mechanical fault-finding.
  • Experience of adhering to Safe Systems of Work.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • A Customer-Focused attitude and approach.
  • Proficient IT skills.
