We’re looking for a Senior Warehouse and Logistics Manager to join our Engineering and Supply Department.

This role is responsible for the day-to-day operation of our primary warehouse at our Headquarters in Poole, which is c3,500 sq. ft. and issues over 3M items annually. The post holder will also act as the warehousing SME providing advice as required across the wider RNLI in support of warehousing and logistics solutions.

Your Role

Responsibilities

As a Senior Warehouse and Logistics Manager, you will be responsible for the control, storage and delivery of RNLI inventory and ensuring that the RNLI vehicle fleet is fit for purpose ad managed effectively. You will also focus on the following areas:

  • Develop and implement an effective inventory management and planning strategy to balance cost with availability of inventory to the broad range of RNLI stakeholders. Ensuring that the RNLI has a clear, up-to-date, and accurate record of its inventory and whereabouts across in-house and 3rd party locations.
  • Develop and implement a fit-for-purpose, cost effective, efficient system of warehousing infrastructure, process, and operations. Proactively seek opportunities to improve the value from the ERP system in terms of process effectiveness, accuracy, productivity, and automation.
  • Deliver a fit-for-purpose outbound and inbound logistics solution to RNLI internal customers across UK&I. Including, the delivery of a competent and efficient 24-hour emergency supply service to support RNLI 24/7 operations.

You will be managing a large team so excellent people management experience and the ability to communicate with people at all levels of the organisation is a must for this role, as well as risk management and negotiation skills.

About You

You’ll have significant warehouse management experience and enjoy being part of a fast paced team, supporting a national charity to deliver support to lifesaving operations across the UK and Ireland. You will be managing stock at multiple warehouses both in-house and third party so building good working relationships with key stakeholders is key. To be considered as the Warehouse Manager you will need:

  • Essential - demonstrable evidence of working within warehousing and supply chain at a senior level
  • Desirable – Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply Status or Institute of Logistics & Supply
  • Experience of warehousing, inventory management and distribution- covering UK&I operations across a variety of end-user activities.
  • Excellent people management experience in a warehouse/logistics environment
