Senior Tax Analyst

Overview

An experienced professional with a full understanding of area of Filing and Filing Technology at Avalara; resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways. Works on technology projects of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors, specification of requirements must be precise and where working within a structured delivery manner is a must. Demonstrates good judgment in providing requirements, testing and supporting deployment of technology projects. Networks with senior internal and external personnel in the delivery of the projects.

Responsibilities

• Delivers technology delivery projects - manage your own delivery, manages colleagues, liaise with other teams, and ensure successful delivery
• Identify automation/technology gaps and work with Product, Engineering, Content and Innovate to resolve
• Collate and detail VAT technology requirements in a manner that is consumable by our Product, Engineering, Content and Innovate colleagues in the course of delivery of technology projects
• Plan and deliver UAT for technology projects in a way that ensures the success of the delivery
• Proactively identify and deliver operational improvements
• Act as a Point Of Contact (POC) for stakeholders
• Plan and manage the new year deployment of countries and VR platform in conjunction with Product, Engineering, Innovate and GRPS Country Managers
• Create and monitor tax technology Jira tickets, liaising with Product, Engineering, Content and Innovate to resolve to ensure impact is minimised and the solution developed meets the requirements
• Be the first point of contact for clarifications/issues on technology platform issues
• Resolve operations technology support tickets as per SLAs
  
  

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years experience in VAT compliance
• Knowledge of common VAT treatments and returns processes in Top 13 countries
• Experience with VAT platform architecture and returns technology
• Attention to detail, with a drive to continuously improve ways of working and outputs
