Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Specification Technologist, ensuring team objectives are achieved while supporting their development through on-the-job learning, mentoring, and formal training.
- Participate in development meetings to assess and plan workload.
- Ensure finished product specifications accurately reflect the supply base and are regularly updated in a controlled manner.
- Create and maintain customer specifications for new products.
- Manage updates to customer specifications, including supplier-led amendments and changes in legal or customer requirements.
- Review and maintain specifications to ensure compliance with industry standards, such as BRC, and customer-specific requirements.
- Oversee the process of requesting and approving translations (third party), creating and approving artwork, and meeting customer and legal requirements.
- Stay informed on changes to legal labelling regulations across various markets, working with third parties for legal reviews as necessary.
- Act as the primary point of contact for specification-related queries, managing internal and customer communication, and completing customer questionnaires.
- Support and attend internal and external audits as required.
