Senior Specialist Dietitian for Stroke Rehabilitation & Education Facilitator

The Weston dietetic department are a friendly team of 18 dietitians and support workers, based at Weston General Hospital (WGH) in the beautiful coastal town of Weston-super-Mare. We are looking for a self-motivated, enthusiastic and dynamic individual with excellent team-working, communication and organisational skills. The successful candidate will embrace challenges and be committed to delivering excellent patient care and leading on education to support the development of the future dietetic workforce.
This is an exciting opportunity to build on specialist clinical knowledge providing a range of nutritional interventions to a highly complex cohort of patients, alongside leadership and service development skills within stroke rehabilitation and general medicine pathways.
Additionally, this post provides a unique opportunity to lead on education facilitation for pre registration and apprenticeship placements, WEX, and the preceptorship programme. Education facilitation is envisaged to account for approximately 1 day per week of this post.
As a senior member of the dietetic team you shall have line management responsibilities and work in collaboration with the other band 7 post holders to provide day to day leadership of the team.
You will support junior staff to develop their knowledge and clinical skills in the management of patients within stroke rehabilitation and medicine pathways.
You will work across the 4 pillars of practice to achieve the shared objectives of the Nutrition and Dietetic Service and the wider Adult Therapy Service.
