Senior Software Engineer – Full Time - Remote
The Flex
Date: 3 weeks ago
City: Brighton
Contract type: Full time
Remote
Join The Team Reinventing How The World Rents.
At The Flex, we believe renting a home should feel as effortless as ordering an Uber.
Our mission is bold: to make renting borderless, instant, and intelligent.
Through Base360.ai, our proprietary platform, we’re building the digital nervous system of the rental world — connecting property data, automating operations, and creating the intelligent infrastructure that powers every stay, everywhere.
We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help architect and scale the systems behind The Flex — from seamless booking flows and automated payments to predictive intelligence and global integrations.
If you thrive at the intersection of software, systems, and scale, this is your chance to shape a product redefining how millions live and move.
What You’ll Build
You’ll design, develop, and scale the software that runs The Flex platform — building the backbone of automation that powers our global operations.
From backend APIs and automation pipelines to cloud infrastructure and data synchronization, you’ll ensure every system is fast, reliable, and intelligent.
You’ll collaborate across product, operations, and data teams to bring clarity and automation to one of the world’s most complex industries: rentals.

Your Mission
- Architect the Core – Design and implement scalable, high-performance services that power bookings, payments, and automation workflows.
- Automate Everything – Build intelligent microservices and serverless functions that eliminate repetitive manual work.
- Scale Seamlessly – Create infrastructure capable of supporting thousands of stays and millions of transactions across continents.
- Integrate Intelligently – Connect Base360.ai to key platforms like Airbnb, Stripe, Twilio, and Hostaway.
- Enhance Intelligence – Collaborate with AI-driven automation tools to develop predictive and adaptive systems.
- Mentor & Elevate – Share best practices, review code, and guide engineers toward technical excellence.
- 5+ years of software engineering experience (backend or full-stack).
- Strong expertise in Node.js, Python (FastAPI), and AWS (serverless stack preferred).
- Proven experience designing API-first and event-driven architectures.
- Deep understanding of databases, distributed systems, and automation workflows.
- Curiosity about AI, real estate tech, and intelligent operations.
- A builder’s mindset — focused on speed, quality, and scalability.
- Massive Impact – Your code will automate real-world operations and power thousands of stays across borders.
- Global Mission, Lean Team – No silos. No bureaucracy. Just ambitious builders shipping fast.
- Ownership & Autonomy – You’ll own major components of the stack and influence our technical direction.
- Performance-Driven Rewards – Competitive pay and meaningful upside for top performers.
- Remote-First Culture – Work from anywhere. What matters is output, not hours.
- You want a slow, predictable 9–5.
- You prefer meetings over building.
- You’re comfortable being average.
- You’re not striving to operate in the top 1% of your craft.
