About The Team
We are a software development team of Java engineers maintaining an event-driven pipeline in a microservice architecture. The platform has evolved from a single-purpose billing platform into an increasingly versatile system with a constantly growing set of functions and an expanding number of global users. Agile, people over process, and a data-driven mindset, and good engineering practices are at the heart of what we do. We firmly believe these principles will allow us to build robust and scalable software.
About The Role
As a Senior Software Engineer I, you will be responsible for designing and building new features. You will need to combine both excellent technical expertise with architectural knowledge, and work closely with the technical lead to explore new ideas and solutions. You have a keen interest in improving our ways of working by reflecting on best agile practices. This will allow you to elevate the engineering culture in a team of engineers of different levels of experience, to build a company-leading microservice platform.

Our team works remote, but we do organize days in the office from time to time to collaborate in-person, which you are expected to join. About The Role
As a Senior Software Engineer I, you will be responsible for designing and building new features. You will need to combine both excellent technical expertise with architectural knowledge, and work closely with the technical lead to explore new ideas and solutions. This will allow you to elevate the engineering culture in a team of engineers of different levels of experience, to build a company-leading microservice platform.
Responsibilities
- Partnering closely with the technical lead to understand complex requirements and implement designs that deliver on the desired capabilities
- Apply existing knowledge of the system's core technology to deliver on the product roadmap
- Iterate over agile practices within the team, delivering continuous improvements
- Proactively engage with other team members to grow their software development skills and encourage engineering best practices
- Leveraging the latest technologies, including automation tools, continuous experiments, testing, and learning approaches.
- Have solid development experience with Java Spring Boot, REST APIs, and Microservices
- Have an understanding knowledge of software development methodologies
- Be familiar with using DevOps methodologies such as Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) and the basics of Cloud-Based Infrastructure
- Be familiar of architectural principles
- Be a great communicator and enjoy mentoring and sharing knowledge with other engineers
